This Popular Tea Bags Can Be Deadly! They Contain Pesticides. Avoid These Brands…

These days we are surrounded by many chemicals and pesticides from the food and drinks we buy. So, to avoid such bad effects on the health, eat just organic and pure foods or wash them thoroughly before eating. Even with this, pesticides still manage to sneak in our plates.

So, a study claimed recently that these chemicals are in many tea bags too like Tetley, Twinings, and even Lipton.

An investigation by the CBC news was made and the brands are:

  • Tetley
  • Lipton (Green tea and the Yellow label black tea)
  • Twinings
  • King Cole
  • No Name
  • Red Rose
  • Signal
  • Uncle Lee’s Legends of China (green tea and also jasmine green tea)

The experts used amazing labs and standards for the testing of the pesticides in the dry leaves for the teas, same method were used as by the national Food Inspection Agency.

They said that more than ½ of the tested samples had pesticides in high amounts. Also, 8 of 10 had many chemicals too and one brand had more than 22 pesticide types. Also, some pesticides in the teas, like monocrotophos and endosulfan too are banned in many countries and are harmful even for workers to handle them.

Majority of these teas have traces of pesticides and some had excess amounts above allowance,

Be aware that the best teas have NO pesticides. But, these tea brands are the worst and you must avoid them:

  1. King Cole – really high in pesticides, monocrotophos. It is banned and it can cause irregular heartbeat, coma or involuntary defecating.
  2. Green Tea of Uncle Lee’s Legends of China – a study proved that this has more than 20 types of pesticides, like the endosulfan that is to be banned in some countries due to the side effects it causes; nervous system issues, tremors, or even death.
  3. No Name – has above 10 types pesticides.

All these findings lead us to think that we have to doubt every brand there is. For example, James O’Young the vice president of Uncle Lee’s Legends of China, said his brand was good and regardless of the brand YOU choose, their own brand is just fine and their crops are healthy!

He turned blind eye to the fact that the CBC results showed otherwise and Red Rose was the only pesticide-free tea of all 10 tested. This shows tea can indeed be grown with NO pesticides, regardless of what producers say.

So, buy from those that DO NOT HARM your health and nature, and stay away from No Name and Uncle Lee’s Legends of China.
